Skunk Odor Deodorizer for Dogs

Ingredients:
1/4
cup Hydrogen Peroxide (3% "First Aid" Solution)
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup
Lemon dishwashing soap
Combine ingredients right before your going to use them. If the dog has a coat short enough, just use as is. If you have a long or thick coated breed make a double batch.
1. Use mixture full strength into the area of the 'direct hit' and add a little water and more soap to finish off the rest of the dog.
2. Be very careful not to get this in your dogs eyes!
3. Let sit (or massage in) for 5-15 minutes, (peroxide can bleach darker coated dogs).
4. Rinse, rinse, and rinse again. Smell should be gone if the dog is bathed before the musk oil had a chance to dry.
Most dogs that are “skunked” have been sprayed in the mouth and on the head. If you have Petrodex toothpaste, brush your dog’s teeth as well - make sure to brush tongue & the insides of cheeks too. When you are done, throw away the toothbrush – it will reek of skunk!
Important: Do not store any leftover Skunk Deodorizer shampoo mixture. This shampoo combination creates a chemical reaction that releases oxygen (gas) that will build up in a sealed container and burst. As with any home remedy, check with your vet before proceeding.
